Shit, you’re an honorary New Yorker now, dude—feel free to jam on “Empire State of Mind” every chance you get. Anyway, ?uestlove is behind the turntables tonight, DJing an epic warehouse party in Brooklyn, dedicated to the memory of Martin Luther King Jr. on the weekend that would have commemorated his 81st birthday. ?uest has a deeper working knowledge of funk, soul, and rap than 99 percent of working music critics, so expect things to get waaaaay deeper than the requisite spins of “Pride (In the Name of Love)” and “By the Time I Get to Arizona.”
